The effects of Superphosphate on plants and the environment Essay Example

The impacts of Superphosphate on plants and the earth Paper Superheated is a compost delivered by the activity of responding focused sulfuric corrosive on ground phosphate rock. Calcium sulfate is an impressive waste produce of this procedure. Ca (APP)2 + SHAHS - + Ca (HAPPY)2 + spectrophotometer utilized worldwide by as a manure the cultivating business and cultivators. It builds plant creation by as much as 106% as long as the plants are getting the necessary measure of water for ordinary plant development. Super phosphate does pretty much nothing assuming nothing if there is no downpour or unsettling so cultivates living in low downpour fall regions will in general utilize other non water depended compost. It was truly purchased to the market in the second haft Of the twentieth century when an affordable method Of spreading it came to fruition. The Development of aeronautical topdressing in New Zealand began the market off it was enjoyed as the manure could be spread financially over huge regions. Presently in Australia Superheated is placed in with the seed when planting or spread with Superheated trucks as we are not as sloping as New Zealand. It works by step by step disintegrating in the dirt, giving solvent phosphorus which is consumed by roots and Trans situated inside the plant. Its advantages are t likewise contains Sulfur in the promptly accessible type of sulfate for plants to take up. This makes it perfect for low richness and trimming circumstances. The Calcium in Spermatophyte can be significant in some agricultural and slope nation circumstances where it is uneconomic to utilize lime. Phosphate is found normally in winged creature crap or by the activity of guano accordingly there are enormous stores found around ocean fowl settlements which can be and are mined. Naira an island in the South Pacific is renowned for it mining sties a great part of the dirt was mined and a significant part of the earth was demolished. Subsequently super soils won't have the structure and supplements which worm give. Huge scope spermatophyte use hurt a few animal groups, for example, the Giant Spalding night crawler which has been recorded as compromised. It has no impact on plants if there is no downpour because of the manner in which it discharges vitality that issue has been over dropped by applying it broke up in water however it is increasingly costly. On the off chance that surface run off happens on exceptionally prepared cultivating territory algal blossoms can happen bringing about absence Of oxygen in the water and marine creatures and plants can be murdered or hurt. On the off chance that the run-off compost can likewise slaughter coral reefs as it makes the mud clingy and the coral can not adapt. High investigation phosphate composts. High investigation implies that they have higher phosphate content in them (20 percent more) they are called twofold or triple phosphate. Utilizing phosphoric corrosive set up or to a limited extent substitution of sulfuric corrosive make the phosphate content higher consequently making a more grounded manure. This gives the manure all the more value for its money it implies that you just need to ay one pack of triple quality for a similar effect of three sacks of single quality. Its simpler to move however high focused measures of phosphate can accomplish more mischief than anything harming the plant and easing back or halting development. Single quality is under a ton of weight from higher examination phosphate and thus requests have smoothed and in any event, declining. Just contain 9% phosphate as to 25% in triple quality let it appears that it will remain command in field application in Australia. Physiotherapists are a significant plant supplement it is the thing that makes Spermatophyte function as it might administer the pace of development of living beings. Alt is likewise utilized in defalcates cleansers, metal treatment and creature takes care of. By a long shot the biggest application is in manures and consistently around MM T PA of phosphate rock is created around the world. Science specking its observational recipe IPPP-and has a molar mass of 94. 973 g/mol. Its structure comprises of one focal phosphorus particle encompassed by four indistinguishable oxygen molecules in a tetrahedral game plan as appeared. It is normally found as adenosine phosphate which contains Adenosine toothpaste (ADAPT) and Adenosine troposphere (TAP) which stores and moves vitality. This is the thing that makes Phosphate such an incredible manure vitality artificially put away and it can move to cells quicker. Hence plants develop greater, better, and quicker. Initially ground phosphate was simply utilized for a manure and still is in natural confining. However, presently after we made sense of how to synthetically get it make Superheated which is significantly more normally utilized. Adenosine tropospheres comprise of adenosine which in its self has an adenine ring and a ribose sugar and three phosphates gatherings (troposphere). It is water dissolvable yet when yet is hydrolysis when presented to high PH. At the point when broken down in water it is wealthy in synthetic vitality. Vitality is discharged when the subsequent bond is broken and water is permitted to respond with the two items.

Law of Business Organizations Cases and Notes

Question: Talk about the Law of Business Organizations for Cases and Notes. Answer: Presentation: A legitimacy Limited Company in many is normally introduced as a pty ltd. Its name (legitimacy) recommends that it exclusive while then again, restricted essentially makes references to the obligation that originates from the constrained installment of investors obligations concerning their offers. Preceding the enlistment of appropriateness restricted organization inside Australian state, it is significant for specific contemplations to be set up (Armstrong 2006). The subject contemplations rotate around the accompanying; the organization to be enrolled ought to have at any rate one executive for motivations behind organization. The organization to be enlisted ought to likewise have an Australian location for an office that is enrolled. In any case, the organization to be enlisted should place into thought the part of investors and the laborers or the workers. It should have if less one investor however ought not outperform a limit of 50 workers. Aside from the referenced Policies and Acts, the enlistment ought to likewise agree to ASIC whose full importance is Australian Securities and Investment Commission. During the enrollment of legitimacy restricted organization or a pty ltd organization, there is a prerequisite for the arrangement of a corporate register for recording and is required to coordinate with the 2001 Act of Corporation. After that the Australian Securities and Investment Commission will furnish the organization in setting with the enlistment testament to approve its enrollment. On a similar note, after the enrollment of a legitimacy restricted organization, it is essential for exceptionally close recognition on the inside administration of the organization which is to be administered by blend of decides and constitution that are replaceable to be thought of (Australia business and speculation openings yearbook: functional data and openings 2005). The referenced ought to be in accordance with the Corporation Act under area 134 and 135. As indicated by 1936 and 2001 Act of Corporation, replaceable standards are referenced as areas inside the subject Act which have a programmed application with the thought of the companys administration and the executives. Areas 134 and Sections 135 Other than the as of now talked about over, the NB area 134 and 135, obviously traces the forces and decides that are inside the constitution. The vast majority of the forces incorporate; the forces of arrangement and the forces given or vested upon the executives. It likewise manages the guideline of the individuals and chiefs gatherings. On a similar viewpoint, it accommodates the arrangements of various offer classes. This approves the fundamental target why the interior administration of the legitimacy restricted organization ought to be under the administration by the mix of replaceable standards and constitution under area 134 and 135 as of now explained concerning Corporation Act inside the passage (Australia 2011). Area 254A and Section 254A Under this area, the enrollment of a legitimacy constrained organization (pty ltd) should gangs both common offers just as a class of redeemable inclination shares. As referenced in the basic comments with deference in the early on comments of this area, the previous is secured under segment 254A (2) and (3). On account of inclination shares, its significance or imperativeness is acknowledged at the time or time of companys enlistment since it engages the subject issue. The offers are additionally pegged to the as of now talked about idea of defendability and rules of NB area 134 and 135 that manages matters identified with reimbursement of capital, total and noncumulative of profits. The segment in setting is along these lines similarly essential simply like those of NB area 134 and 135 and ought to likewise be placed into incredible view with regards to companys enlistment. In the angle redeemable inclination shares inclination share that can be experience recovery under area 254A (3), it is vital for enrollment since it will take into consideration the appropriateness restricted organization to reclaim its offers during a period that is fixed or on the occurrence of specific occasions. The occasions in setting might be in accordance with the subject organization choice or investors choice. All these are caught in NB area 254A (3). A similar segment likewise plots various strategies and rules that traces how the inclination partakes in setting are to be recovered. Other than the approaches and rules, there are additionally the corporate guidelines which should likewise be presented with an equivalent load as those of the segment in setting to guarantee that the offers reclamation is reasonable. Segment 198A It was seen that chiefs had a propensity for settling on one-sided choices that harmed the advancement of the organizations. They likewise exploited running the organizations a solitary to serve their own advantages and steal the companys assets. This segment was thusly brought into power to put a keep an eye on the executives by guaranteeing that a definitive choice lied on the general enrollment (Bell Howell Information and Learning 2009). This segment explains the obligations of the executives of an organization. It additionally expresses the cutoff points to which the forces can be worked out. For example, there are events in which just the regular gathering can settle on specific choices with respect to the organization. This area keeps the executives from running the organization as their own properties. It advances a culture of interview between or among the executives and the whole participation. This decreases the odds of chiefs abusing the workplace or misusing reserves. No one-sided choice can be taken which may risk the advancement of the organization. It additionally guarantees that investors certainty is contact. On the off chance that they are certain that the executives powers are choked and they must be counseled every now and then they can keep on furrowing their assets into the organization. Segment 191 This segment for the most part discusses what should given thought while enlisting an organization. An organization can't be an individual and along these lines lawful systems must to be followed. For instance, it was understood that a few chiefs of organizations used to enroll different organizations utilizing their names or with names of their dear companions or family members. This could bring a great deal of contentions as the executives could improve themselves or their companions. The organizations were along these lines depicted in a negative light. Many court fights additionally resulted to the hindrance of the influenced companied. This segment was subsequently acquainted and carried with training or course right away. The segment necessitated that chiefs of the Australian organizations uncover material individual interests. This segment is intended to guarantee that executives individual interests don't conflict with those of the organizations. The executive should cautiously choose whether his own advantages are material. On the off chance that a chief doesn't proclaim his own advantages the person in question may have undue favorable position when exchanging with the organization. For example, if the executive is working another business managing supplies he/she may over provide the cost estimates making him to move the companys assets to his side business (Hughes 2014). There are additionally different situations where when it came to tenders, the chiefs would go after their organizations to be granted or dispensed the tenders. This would demonstrate only their personal circumstance material, since they are offering for the equivalent, the opposition between the chiefs companys and different bidders may not be reasonable (Latimer 2006). This is on the grounds that they are similar individuals who are accused of the obligation of giving out the tenders and here they are vieing for them. The likelihood of them winning the tenders was high (Johns 2012). This segment in this way prepares for such and puts the organization blameless since inquiries on biasness don't emerge. Segment 250R Generally, executives had constrained decisions to make with respect to the companys compensations. Individuals with little information would pass unbending and restricting goals which must be followed carefully till the following yearly regular gathering (Smyth 2005). This prompted difficult issues particularly when the financial parts of a nation endured some flimsiness into softly. This was the primary motivation behind why this segment was brought into light. The segment was consequently acquainted with permit individuals to have say on compensations while additionally giving chiefs opportunity to make alterations when helpful. The area 250(R) (2) manages deciding on the compensation report in a yearly comprehensive gathering. Subsection (3) opens the vote isn't legitimately bouncing to executives (Tomasic, Bottomley McQueen 2002). The segments guarantee that individuals partake in a most critical thing, compensation which is at the core of each investor. This monitors the chiefs against cases of abuse of assets or over and under installment of compensations. Be that as it may, the executives have an elbowroom to think about the choice and relying upon their budgetary experience and ability complete a few alterations considerably after the comprehensive gathering. The financial aspects of a nation is never static and numerous multiple times it is temperamental. The executives can in this manner alter the goals dependent on the monetary condition. It gives executives opportunity to control compensation (Vickery Pendleton 2006). All in all, the enrollment of an appropriateness restricted organization is a point by point and selective procedure that requires various records and arrangements as referenced in the in the ensuing passages concerning the area gave. Cetacean Characteristics and Facts

The word cetacean is used to describe all whales, dolphins and porpoises in the order Cetacea. This word comes from the Latin cetus meaning a large sea animal, and the Greek word ketos, meaning sea monster. There are about 89 species of cetaceans. The term about is used because as scientists learn more about these fascinating animals, new species are discovered or populations are re-classified. Cetaceans range in size from the tiniest dolphin, Hectors dolphin, which is just over 39 inches long, to the largest whale, the blue whale, which can be over 100 feet long. Cetaceans live in all of the oceans and many of the major rivers of the world. Cetaceans are thought to have evolved from even-toed ungulates (a group that includes cows, camels, and deer). Types of Cetaceans There are many types of cetaceans, which are divided largely according to how they feed. The order Cetacea is divided into two sub-orders, the Mysticetes (baleen whales) and the Odontocetes (toothed whales). The Odontocetes are more numerous, comprising 72 different species, compared to 14 baleen whale species. The Mysticetes include species such as the blue whale, fin whale, right whale, and humpback whale. Mysticetes have hundreds of comb-like plates of baleen hanging from their upper jaw. Baleen whales feed by gulping large amounts of water containing hundreds or thousands of fish or plankton, then forcing the water out in between the baleen plates, leaving the prey inside to be swallowed whole. Odontocetes include the sperm whale, orca (killer whale), beluga  and all of the dolphins and porpoises. These animals have cone-shaped or spade-shaped teeth and usually capture one animal at a time and swallow it whole. Odontocetes feed mostly on fish and squid, although some orcas prey on other marine mammals. Cetacean Characteristics Cetaceans are mammals, which means they are endothermic (commonly called warm-blooded) and their internal body temperature is about the same as a humans. They give birth to live young and breathe air through lungs just like we do. They even have hair. Unlike fish, which swim by moving their heads from side-to-side to swing their tail, cetaceans propel themselves by moving their tail in a smooth, up-and-down motion. Some cetaceans, such as the Dalls porpoise and the orca (killer whale) can swim faster than 30 miles per hour. Breathing When a cetacean wants to breathe, it has to rise to the water surface and exhale and inhale out of the blowholes located on top of its head. When the cetacean comes to the surface and exhales, you can sometimes see the spout, or blow, which is the result of the warm air in the whales lungs condensing upon reaching the cool air outside. Insulation Whales do not have a coat of fur to keep warm, so they have a thick layer of fat and connective tissue called blubber underneath their skin. This blubber layer can be as much as 24 inches thick in some whales. Senses Whales have a poor sense of smell, and depending on where they are, they may not be able to see well underwater. However, they have excellent hearing. They do not have external ears but have tiny ear openings behind each eye. They can also tell the direction of sound underwater. Diving Whales have collapsible rib cages and flexible skeletons, which allows them to compensate for high water pressure when they dive. They can also tolerate higher levels of carbon dioxide in their blood, allowing them to stay underwater for up to 1 to 2 hours for large whales.

The administration feels the insurance of marine life to be the most extreme need with a specific end goal to settle the financial states of the nation though additionally making a point to take into account the requirements of the oceanic life. The scallops are basically celebrated as an enormous charming dish in Australian foods and for these reasons it has been received to be economically jumped and recreationally plunged too by various individuals. The licenses have been issued and made mandatory for each scallop jumper and without this the movement would be considered tot ally illicit. These laws are applied over each individual who can get the scallops but they need to follow the limitations. This is why the Scallop Authority has made such laws so that each and every one can get a fair benefit. Rules applied The primary issue which encompasses distinctive individuals and especially in this circumstance is that Bob needs to open an organization which would permit him to plunge for more than the endorsed sums set by the Authorities. But still, he needs to face numerous legitimate imperatives which either makes this movement to be permitted or not (Ferran Ho 2014). The fisheries branch of Australia has made an important set of principles for all business and recreational jumpers in the year 1999 which makes it simple for every one of the jumpers to partake in this movement by various confinements. The Biodiversity demonstration and Environmental insurance act go out by the division is one of the examples (Kearney et al. 2012). Application The law when connected to various measures of limitations and limits, basically uncovers that how scallop plunging is not so much centered on the assurance of the species. Legitimized Arguments The accompanying contentions have been gathered under the law and along these lines will manage defending as I would see it that how a specific individual or Bob for this situation is unquestionably permitted to claim an organization as well as grow his business in the outside world. The law guarantees that a solitary permit holder can just encourage a solitary vessel while plunging for scallops and the pontoon ought to have no less than two individuals with further allows to do the demonstration. On the off chance that Bob is fruitful in selecting more than 5 individuals to go with him and soundly shape a solitary organization which couldn't just work as people yet the a different way. This would in this manner guarantee that the organization's find contingent upon the individual would be more than 50 tons a year. The Australian standards and directions permit the jumpers to offer their gets outside Australia if any abundance sums remain. However, the amount when satisfied by offering the organization's gets to the Marketing specialists. Bob could figure out how to send his catch outside and in this manner acquire more than what he earned without any help some time recently. Conclusion It can be concluded on the basis of the law which has been discussed that the law permits Bob to make an organization and increment his catch. But that depends how every jumper wishes to spend his catch and gain the cash. The organization can be made popularized with further developments to its filling in as there are just 5-6 business organizations working for scallops in Australia. The presence of these organizations demonstrate that how the law ensures that all organizations work under a guided tenets and good directs. 2. Introduction The New Nirvana band has been working under various Australian organization laws since their rise. The band has been a focal point of various organizations combined and entirely possessed auxiliaries organizations attempting to guarantee quality shows as well as a perfect business wander which bolsters the band in their shows and different attempts. Rules applied The key issue which should be tended to today in this specific article is that the Nuclear Blast sounds have been made to work every single distinctive show of New Nirvana and the specialized hardware set ups for the band too. In a specific show in any case, the organization had taken the measures to be outrageous when they accidently orchestrated the speaker volumes to abnormal states. It happened when the music began playing, the general population who were close to the speakers had wounds to their listening to abilities and ears (Brown 2013). The key issue is that Nuclear Blast sounds might be a free organization, however, it is an auxiliary organization. This implies that it has no lawful protection arrangements which may bolster the case of the general population. The fundamental issue is currently to inform the general population regarding their next stride which may help them in managing these two organizations. The law which best depicts this circumstance for people who were uninformed of how company functions is the Act of Corporation which was drafted by the Australian Bureau in 2001. It plainly expresses that all backup organizations which participate in the benefit share that is nearly 33% will be held responsible for the act. (Kearney 2013). Applications of the law The completely claimed backup organizations under the enterprise demonstration will all be held under the risk when a solitary organization of the whole blend confronts any troubles. This is on account of despite the fact that the organizations might be under various ambits and names, the parent organization still holds every one of the rights towards keeping up the solidness of these organizations with the goal that they may work all the more effectively while as yet having the privilege to make their own formative arrangements. Legitimized Arguments The accompanying contentions will legitimize my assessment of how the general population can basically sue the band yet still get distinctive reenactments to how the law will manage this issues. 1) The First contention goes totally against the parent organization and additionally New Nirvana which encourage bonds the instance of the general population. The New Nirvana joined with Nuclear Blast despite the fact that by realizing that the organization did not have any move down arrangements started in types of protection (King 2015). 2) An entirely claimed auxiliary organization by definition but works under a structure which shows that the organization has its open and separate personality on the planet. However, in reality, just acts as a startup organization from a bigger parent organization which has every one of the shots and stakes at the organization's choices. Since Nuclear Blasts is one of the completely possessed organizations, the parent organization would then be in charge of all the legitimate claims rolling in from the general population (Kearney et al. 2012). Conclusion The above said contentions additionally help us to presume that the general population can claim against New Nirvana as they would be qualified to pay for every single therapeutic charge which are required by the patients. This would build the odds of people in general to get consoled for every one of their issues and harms. But by law, they are naturally qualified for record of various claims to the organization proprietors, and particularly the ones which are working in seaward places and are known as Parent organizations. These parent organizations have the aptitude of supporting all their auxiliary organizations from the center. They also try to provide the best possible execution of arrangements and advancement while likewise giving distinctive measure of accounts to the general population (Kearney 2013). 3. Introduction The assistance gave by all unique lawyers and specialists working for firms give the whole emotionally supportive network to the organization and settled the case without breaking any law. These specialists are in charge of drafting diverse arrangements for the organization while making interests in various fields. Since Bob was enlisted as a property legal counselor, it bodes well for him to be at his ideal level and give bolster. However, the issue emerges frequently when organizations are confronted with various charges from their own particular legal counselors. An example of such a case has been discussed below. Rules The issue here is totally on moral levels while considering polished skill and other good codes required in an organization. Bounce is a property specialist who had been working with his companion in an organization for a considerable length of time and was particularly selected as a result of his aptitudes and information in the field of his work, However soon the proprietors chose to relinquish Bob by procuring someone else who was similarly indecent about working for the organization, this upbeat event was however over ruled and upbraided by weave himself who subjected the organization in a claim while the organization proprietors now confront issues on the most proficient method to getting away from this specific issue (Jabour et al. 2016). The Australian Moral Code of lead for various specialists to take after who are providing legal counsel in the nation characterizes distinctive good imperatives and directions which can be utilized as a part of characterizing furthermore sufficiently giving motivation to the general population for disposing of a specific legal counselor from the firm. The as a matter of first importance law which can be utilized is the article 4 which says that the specialist must be dependably to the greatest advantage of the organization. The area 5 expresses that the specialist can at untouched are expelled from the firm when the organization feels that he has ended up being unequipped for giving great administrations to the organization (Hanna et al. 2015). Theoretical Application of the Law The Millennium organization proprietors can utilize every one of these articles to support them when Bob makes them show up in the court by giving not just the diverse proofs of Bob's lack of ability and the rebellion of the ethical code of behaviors. The contentions which can be expressed keeping in mind the end goal to free the organization of their legitimate remaining for this situation are as beneath. 1) The most importantly contention is that the organization if did not had any desire to develop Bob's agreement since they felt that he was unequipped for providing the organization with quality administration and under segment 5 of the law they were totally legitimately qualified for expel him from the firm on the premise of his execution as well as his demonstrations (Brown 2013). 2) The second contention which can be assembled and demonstrate that how Millennium proprietors act can be advocated is that Bob's immediate association of the court and the claim while overlooking the statement of the authority in his agreement places him in the immediate infringement of the ethical codes and article six of the book for conveying disgrace to the organization's name (Bartley 2014). Conclusion The above made conclusions help the organization to build up themselves as totally supported and under the ambit of law for expelling the ex-specialist and even without an earlier notice. These contentions help the firm to set up themselves as the casualties who were confronting distinctive measures of issues from their specialist who was not satisfactory and when he was designated as a property legal counselor, while additionally considering the diverse measures of ventures of the organizations in these properties which could conceivably harm all their business if their legal advisor was unequipped for taking care of the occupations in the later phases of the work. The Italian Renaissance Essay Example

The Italian Renaissance Essay The ancestors of man were experimenting with art over 12 thousand years ago, paintings as far back as 15,000 to 10,000 BC have been found in caves. Our history of painting was slow to mature into the art we know and appreciate today. The most prolific period was the Renaissance period, with some of the best known masters being represented by this period. The Italian Renaissance was as the name implies the rebirth of painting. This does not imply that all the advances of painting came from this period but that the masters learned to combine new and old. The Italian artist Masaccio, was referred to by some as the father of Renaissance painting.Masaccio made notable advances in the styles of paintings such as perspective, space, and surrounding his subjects in light and air.Masaccio was the next great Italian painter after Giotto who died in 1337. Giotto who painted during the gothic period was able to display naturalistic human dramas and used characteristics with renaissance qualiti es. Some of these were showing figures as solid and weighty characters.Masaccio recognized what Giotto had initiated and brought it forward with other characteristics as previously mentioned. The other two artist who deserve recognition in the early part of the Italian renaissance are Brunilleschi and Donatello for their innovations in linear perspective in sculpture and architecture. An important scientific innovation by Masaccio was in the Holy Trinity with the Virgin and ST. John. The setting reveals a complete command of Brunelleschis new architecture and of scientific perspective. This barrel vaulted chamber is a place that the figures could move freely if they wished. For thefirst time in history, we are given all the needed data to measure the depth of this painted interior. We note that all the lines perpendicular to the picture plane converge upon a point below the foot of the cross, on the platform that supports the kneeli

Thutmose III essays

Thutmose III essays Thutmose III was the first brilliant warrior-pharaoh of the New Kingdom period of Egypts history who throughout ingenious methods consolidated Egypts empire. He can be chiefly described as warrior, consolidator, administrator and builder. At Megiddo, 330 Syrian princes had gathered, led by the Prince of Kadesh to break free from Egypt. Thutmose knew this could stop the flow of wealth from the region of Egypt. In response, he set out in April of year 25 from his garrison at Gaza in southern Palestine, marching his army north to Megiddo to deal with the princes South of Yehmen; he called together his council of generals to discuss the best way to approach the city. The Annals, written by Thutmoses scribes show that Thutmose was a great strategist and the loyalty his followers possessed towards their great leader. Thutmose led his army along the narrow and dangerous Avuna road reaching the King Valley. Here he accepted his generals advice to wait for the rear of the army to arrive before attacking. The following morning the armies of the Syrian princes marched out of Megiddo ready to fight but were shattered by the sight and size of Thutmoses army. They fled back to the city, leaving their weapons and war chariots on the battlefield. Thutmoses army ignored his orders to follow the Syrians; they were too busy gathering the booty so, Thutmose had to lay siege to the city. Instead of using the traditional method of attacking city walls by ladder, Thutmose demonstrated his true power and wits by ordering his men to dig a moat and build a fence around the city. He knew that this method would be time consuming but it would cost less in lives and money, again showing his worth. Leaving part of his troops to wait for the Syrians to surrender, he marched the rest of his army across the regia as far as Damascus, on the way raiding city-states and collecting their harvest to feed h ...

Child Obesity and Its Causes Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words - 1

Child Obesity and Its Causes - Essay Example Children who do less physical activities and spend most of their time watching television and playing computer games are more prone to childhood obesity. For example, a child who prefers playing games on computer instead of playing physical games in the playground is more likely to face childhood obesity. Similarly, a child who prefers to watch cartoons on television in free time instead of playing some game with friends is likely to experience the medical problem of obesity. Lack of physical activities creates a nutritional imbalance in the body, which ultimately affects the overall body shape. It is a fact that when a person does not perform any physical activity, the levels of fats and cholesterol start rising in the body that results in fatness or obesity. For children, the nutritional imbalance causes obesity the effects of which even linger into their future lives. For example, children facing the problem of obesity lose their confidence when peers make fun of them, as well as face a number of critical health issues, which may include high blood pressure, chronic heart problems, joint pains, diabetes, and decrease in stamina. During the earlier years of a person’s life, human body experiences different stages of development and provision of a particular set of proteins, calcium, potassium, vitamins, and all other nutrients is the requirement of each of those stages. However, when a child avoids physical activities and likes to eat junk food most of the time in early years of life, the levels of cholesterol and fats start rising in the body while decreasing the levels of other nutrients. It is the responsibility of parents, teachers, and media to create awareness among children regarding the importance of nutritional values in life. For example, in schools teachers can teach students the importance of doing physical activities and eating a balanced diet, which should include fresh fruits and  vegetables.

BHS 420 Quantitative Reasoning (Module 2-SLP) Essay

BHS 420 Quantitative Reasoning (Module 2-SLP) - Essay Example e creative process, how (or if) the depressive element constrains the artist, and how the balance of the two phases of Bipolar Disorder contribute to artistic expression. Does the manic cycle of Bipolar Disorder positively impact the artist? In dealing with famous, but dead, artistic masters, the disease was untreated. Current news headlines are full of instances where untreated bipolar sufferers engage in anti-social or even criminal behavior. I understand that the manic phase of the disease can cause people to engage in high-risk behavior and poor judgment, but it also induces a sense of euphoria and a feeling of invincibility. I think it is possible that the manic side of bipolar fueled much of the artistic expression; or at least the work it took to create the symphony, manuscript, or painting. It is not hard to imagine one of the three artistic geniuses noted above sitting over their work in the middle of the night fully charged with energy and passion. The modern bipolar sufferer would be medicated for insomnia—but what about the effect of having so much energy channeled into a creative act? I want to know how mania contributed to the pr ocess. Does the depressive cycle constrain the artist? Similarly, the depressive cycle of bipolar can render people virtually helpless; bedridden or mentally unable to be productive at all. Yet it seems to me that the â€Å"dark† side of bipolar might have contributed to the creative process. One only has to listen to â€Å"Moonlight Sonata† to recognize a bipolar cycle; the first movement is dark and slow, the second is like a ray of sunshine on a flowered field, and the third is this combination of incredible energy fused into the dark theme. Rather than being constrained, Beethoven seemed empowered by the depression. Conversely, Hemingway would have long periods of no creativity at all—often he wrote in a drunken stupor—and then burst forth with the great American novel. I would like to understand the

Physical Chemistry Lab Report Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1750 words - 3

Physical Chemistry - Lab Report Example Chemical electronic transitions that are usually induced through the absorption of visible light spectrum result in excited state molecules. In the process energy is absorbed, dissipated or both. The absorbed energy must be released to return the excited species back to the original ground state. Typically, on absorption of light at their absorption maxima, dye molecules exhibit long excited state lifetimes and emit radiation at longer wavelengths (fluorescence or phosphorescence). The excited state of the luminescent dye can be quenched by an energy transfer mechanism upon collision with oxygen molecules [1] As a result, the intensity of luminescence is reduced along with the lifetime and the degree of quenching is proportional to the oxygen concentration. Fig. 1 shows a schematic diagram of an optical oxygen sensor. The active components of the sensor are the luminescent dye encapsulated in a polymer medium, a light source (commonly a LED or laser) for exciting the dye at a particular wavelength, (550–800 nm) [2], a photodiode to detect the fluorescent radiation and an optical fiber for the transmission of light. The quenching of the luminescence can be characterized by the Stern-Volmer eqn. [3] Figure 1 Schematics of an optical oxygen sensor. Electronic excitation results in an excited state singlet that may undergo internal conversion to a triplet state. Due to the forbidden nature of a triplet singlet transition, the triplet state may exist for a substantial length of time. The emission from this state is known as the phosphorescence. Comparison of Fall of Man and Hamlet Essay -- comparison compare contr

Comparison of Fall of Man and Hamlet The medieval traditions shown in the "Fall of Man" were very apparent in Shakespeare's play, Hamlet. It is not known whether or not Shakespeare ever read the "Fall of Man", and it does not matter, for the effects and influence of the â€Å"Fall of Man† on Shakespeare's writing is very obvious when the plots of both stories are examined. Both are written in archaic form, as well as with a very strict rhyme scheme. â€Å"The Fall of Man† is a tragedy, the same as Hamlet. The reaches of the medieval writings grasp deep into Shakespeare's characters, with common characteristics shared between the characters in â€Å"The Fall of Man† and Hamlet. Even further, Shakespeare's audience would have had to have been very fluent in the language of medieval plays, for there are many references in Hamlet, to plays and mythology of a much earlier date. The style of writing used in "The Fall of Man† is very similar to that used by Shakespeare in Hamlet. This is a sign that medieval plays and literature was an influence on Shakespeare's writing. In "The Fall of Man" the common amount of syllables per line is eight. â€Å"That moffes me mikill in my minde:†[line 2] or â€Å"I knawe it wele, this was His skille†[line 46], these are both examples from â€Å"The Fall of Man†. The breaks in this pattern are quite often put there for emphasis on a line, word or point trying to be made. Shakespeare also has a common amount of syllables, ten per line, with a break in pattern for emphasizes, for example: â€Å"He hath, my lord, wrung from me my slow leave†[I, II, 61], or ... ...ife- rend'ring pelican†[IV, V, 160] which is a reference to the Elizabethan belief that pelican fed their young by tearing skin off their breast to feed them. With this knowledge that may have been common to them, they received an insight that is not available to readers of today. Shakespeare's writings are obviously deeply impacted by the older literature and plays. This becomes obvious when the technique and story lines of "The Fall of Man" and Hamlet are compared. The two are very similar. With the similarities between the older â€Å"Fall of Man† and Hamlet, it becomes inevitable that for Shakespeare's plays to have been so famous and popular, his audience must have had the same understanding of medieval writings, such as â€Å"The Fall of Man†, as Shakespeare himself did.

Understanding the US Homeland Security

On June 2002, President George Bush proposed to create the Department of Homeland Security – a move considered to be the most significant transformation of the US government whereby a single department has been tasked to protect America’s homeland from terrorist attacks. As noted in the Department’s website, the vision of the organization is to preserve the freedom of the United States and its homeland. Its mission is to lead the unified national effort to secure America. It has aimed to prevent and deter terrorist attacks and protect against and respond to threats and hazards to the US. Furthermore, the organization has vowed, as part of its mission, to safe and secure borders, welcome lawful immigrants and visitors, and to promote the free flow of commerce. (US Department of Homeland Security website, 2002) The organizational structure of the Department of Homeland Security has several components which involve resources within Federal, state and local governments. The following are the directorates and their components: Directorate for Preparedness, Directorate for Science and Technology, Directorate for Management, Office of Intelligence and Analysis, Office of Operations Coordination, Directorate for Policy, Domestic Nuclear Detection Office. The Directorate for Preparedness works with state, local, and private sector partners to identify threats, determine vulnerabilities, and target resources where risk is greatest, thereby safeguarding our borders, seaports, bridges and highways, and critical information systems. The Office of the Directorate for Science and Technology is the primary research and development arm of the Department.   It provides Federal, state and local officials with the technology and capabilities to protect the homeland. The Directorate for Management is responsible for Department budgets and appropriations, expenditure of funds, accounting and finance, procurement; human resources, information technology systems, facilities and equipment, and the identification and tracking of performance measurements. Finally, the Directorate for Policy works to enhance the nuclear detection efforts of Federal, State, territorial, tribal, and local governments, and the private sector and to ensure a coordinated response to such threats. (US Department of Homeland Security website, 2002) Aside from the Offices of the Directorates, the US Homeland Department also has independent organizations including the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Customs and Borders Protection, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, Citizenship and Immigration Services, the US Coast Guard, and the US Secret Service. The functions and main responsibilities of these agencies are as follows: FEMA prepares the nation for hazards, manages Federal response and recovery efforts following any national incident, and administers the National Flood Insurance Program. TSA protects the nation's transportation systems to ensure freedom of movement for people and commerce. Customs and Borders Protection is responsible for protecting America’s borders in order to prevent terrorists and terrorist weapons from entering the United States, while facilitating the flow of legitimate trade and travel. ICE is responsible for identifying and shutting down vulnerabilities in the nation’s border, economic, transportation and infrastructure security. Federal Law Enforcement Training Center provides career-long training to law enforcement professionals to help them fulfill their responsibilities safely and proficiently. Citizenship and Immigration Services is responsible for the administration of immigration and naturalization adjudication functions and establishing immigration services policies and priorities. The US Coast Guard protects the public, the environment, and U.S. economic interests—in the nation’s ports and waterways, along the coast, on international waters, or in any maritime region as required to support national security. (US Department of Homeland Security website, 2002) Conclusion and analysis The aftermath of 9/11 has made America more conscious of its homeland security. And rightfully, it is so. The loss of innocent lives and the repercussions it made to the economy of the United States will serve as a reminder that we have to be on vigilant on the evil motives of some countries. The current structure of the US Department of Homeland Security has so far proven itself effective in carrying out its primary task of protecting America and its citizens against any threat to the nation’s freedom and independence. After carefully identifying and studying the organization chart of the Department of Homeland Security, I am of the opinion that everything has been placed exactly where they should be. Obviously, the move to cluster all agencies related to security and the protection of America’s homeland was carefully thought out. So far, the issue on security and preparedness in terms of calamities, whether natural or otherwise, has been properly addressed by this Department. Since America has not yet experienced another 9/11, it would seem to me that the Department of Homeland Security has been doing its job perfectly. Gandhi, a former political leader from India, once said that â€Å"I object to violence because when it appears to do good, the good is only temporary, the evil is does is permanent†. Before the events of World War 1, war was often glorified and people who joined the war were viewed as heroes for the country. In All Quiet on the Western Front, Erich Maria Remarque, a former soldier from World War 1, takes the reader through Paul’s experiences as a soldier along with motivation for countries and soldier to join the war. Alongside this, Remarque shows gruesome images of soldier’s deaths in order to show what horrific consequences war took on both countries and soldiers. Nationalism and Alliances were a reason to join. People often viewed†¦show more content†¦The attack of Serbia caused by Austria-Hungary set off a chain reaction of war like events, starting from Russia coming for support due to close bonds between Serbia and Germany declaring war on both Russia and France. While many countries and individuals initially believed that entering WWI would benefit their country, the soldiers soon faced the negative consequences of losing their former identity and innocence. This was a terrible consequence from the war because the soldiers became dehumanized from their former identity. What was once as fun of a thing as life becomes stupefied; and as a result, the soldiers lose their humanity. In All Quiet on the Western Front, Remarque shows how soldiers fighting in WWI face losing their sense of humanity. This is evident in when Paul comes home during his leave and realizes that war has changed him for the worst. â€Å"Out there I was indifferent and often hopeless- I will never be able to be so again. I was a soldier, and now I am nothing but an agony for myself, for my mother, for everything that is so comfortless without end. I ought to have never come back† (Remarque 185). Not only has Paul lost his former sense of humanity, he feels at home bei ng a soldier rather than being at home. Paul is uncomfortable being at home as he can no longer live a life without thinking about death and feels agony for himself due to dehumanization.
